POSITION TITLE: BOOKKEEPER
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role is crucial for providing insights into the financial health of the organization and supporting decision-making processes.
Full Time position, most days will be 9am-5pm but hours may vary slightly during seasonal needs. Riverside Theatre offers a comprehensive benefits package including 403(b) participation within one day of hire, fully paid health insurance premiums for the employee, over 30 days of paid vacations, holidays and wellness days.
Essential Duties:
Understanding of Balance Sheet and Income Statements
Project accounting
Strong journal entry skills with projects
Reconcile payable GL account to open payables report
Reconcile multiple bank accounts
Adjust various inventories on a monthly basis
Report, file and pay monthly worker's comp insurance
Renew and pay various licenses
Understanding of budgets
Act as payroll processing backu
Required Skills:
Prior accounting experience, proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role is preferred.
Understanding of balance sheets/profit & loss statements
GAAP
Accounting software experience (Financial Edge/Blackbaud)
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel. Financial Edge/Blackbaud experience preferred.
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus but not required.
