POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking a reliable and hardworking part time Line Cook to join our kitchen team at Riverside Theatre. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to established recipes, maintaining quality and consistency, and ensuring a clean, safe, and organized workstation throughout each shift. Riverside Theatre’s culinary operations include The Loop Kitchen and Bar, casual dining, special receptions, and show concessions, and provide a diverse and fast-paced environment where the Line Cook helps deliver high quality food and exceptional experiences to our guests.
SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS:
Mostly 32 hours per week, and infrequently over 32 hours
Availability to work varied evening, weekend, and holiday shifts is required
Additional hours may be scheduled during season’s peak times and events

Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines
Set up and stock assigned stations before service
Maintain proper food quality, temperature, and portion control
Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining accuracy and consistency
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures
Keep workstations, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized
Properly store, label, and rotate food products using FIFO procedures
Assist with prep work, receiving deliveries, and other kitchen duties as needed
Communicate effectively with the Culinary Manager and other team members
Minimize food waste and help maintain appropriate inventory levels
Follow company policies and health department regulations
Expo the line as directed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Previous kitchen or restaurant experience preferred but not always required
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move kitchen supplies as required
Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills
Dependable and punctual
Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
ServSafe Training Certificate
Physical Requirements:Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment and follow safety guidelines
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies and equipment
Ability to work around heat, steam, sharp equipment, and other normal kitchen hazards
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail
