Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach, FL is a regionally producing theatre affiliated with Actor's Equity Association, The League of Resident Theatres, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and United Scenic Artists. Riverside Children's Theatre, the educational arm of Riverside, offers classes, camps, and training opportunities in the areas of theatre, dance, music, and video for all ages on a year round basis.

Bookkeeper

POSITION TITLE: BOOKKEEPER

REPORTS TO: Director of Finance
JOB TYPE: Full Time, Exempt, Salaried

Work Hours:
This Bookkeeper position is full time, salaried, and exempt. The regular work hours are 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday-Friday. Hours often vary during the theatre's "season,” based on the seasonal needs.

Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understanding of Balance Sheet and Income Statements

  • Project accounting

  • Strong journal entry skills with projects

  • Reconcile payable GL account to open payables report

  • Reconcile multiple bank accounts

  • Adjust various inventories on a monthly basis

  • Report, file and pay monthly worker's comp insurance

  • Renew and pay various licenses

  • Prepare reports and pay royalties

  • Pay union fees and dues, review reports for accuracy

  • Payables for Capital Campaign

  • Assistant in payables during busy season

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • GAAP

  • Prior accounting experience

  • Understanding of balance sheets and profit & loss statements

  • MS Excel

  • Accounting software experience, such as Financial Edge, Blackbaud, etc.
