Education Policies

Riverside Theatre Education Policies

Please note: These policies are not open to interpretation or discussion, have been developed with the latest guidelines available, and are meant to keep faculty, staff, and students safe.

 General Policies:

  • Students should bring a personal water bottle. Food will be allowed during designated times, such as a snack or lunch break depending on the length of the class and at the discretion of the teacher/director. Students must bring their food with them – no deliveries, no parent drop-off during rehearsals/classes, and no use of microwaves or refrigerators.

  • Any participant who is feeling ill (regardless of symptoms) should stay home. This includes all symptoms of any illness, not just symptoms associated with COVID-19. Participants who begin feeling ill during their time at the theater must be picked up within 30 minutes of parental notification.

Drop Off/Pick Up:

  • Drop Off and Pick Up will occur at the doors to the Anne Morton education lobby doors.

  • Drop off is between 5 minutes prior to and the start time for each rehearsal. Pickup is between 5 minutes prior to and the end time for each rehearsal.

  • Instructors will meet students at the education doors and escort them to the rehearsal hall. Participants will not be admitted after this occurs. Be advised that students will be left unattended outside in front of the building once instructors have swapped classes.

  • Only students will be allowed on campus. Parents will not be permitted on site at either drop off or pickup. Please park in the lot across from the theater, not the areas in front of campus, to both drop off and pick up participants. Parents/guardians may walk participants across the street but will not be permitted in any building on campus. At pickup, parents may also walk across the street, but again, no parent/guardian will be allowed in any building on campus. We ask that social distancing guidelines be followed during drop off and pickup.

  • Students should come dressed for class. Use of the restrooms in the building will be restricted to bathroom breaks for students only. There will be no changing facilities available and restrooms will only be available to registered students attending a class or rehearsal.
