Riverside Theatre is a regionally producing theatre affiliated with Actor's Equity Association, The League of Resident Theatres, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and United Scenic Artists. Riverside Children's Theatre, the educational arm of Riverside, offers classes, camps, and training opportunities in the areas of theatre, dance, music, and video for all ages on a year round basis.

UPCOMING STUDENT AUDITION INFO

Riverside Theatre seeks to transform lives by creating theater experiences for young people and families through our professional theater productions and our performance opportunities for young artists.  Like our productions next door at Riverside’s Stark and Waxlax Theatres, our events and productions performed in the Riverside Education Program seek to inspire, enlighten, and entertain. Our productions listed below serve as opportunities for students to continue to learn and further develop their craft as young actors .  Auditions are open to all (based on the specific criteria listed), and our plays are presented by the students under the guidance and direction of our award-winning educators and staff here at Riverside Theatre.  All events are sure to delight and educate audiences of all ages.

Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka KIDS! 
Suggested for Ages 8-12
Audition Date: April 15, 2017 at 10am
To Audition:   Prepare 16 measures of an up-tempo musical theatre song. 
You may also be taught a brief dance, reading, or a song from the show.
Rehearsals: Fridays from 4 to 8 starting April 28, plus one week of camp the week of June 19th Mon-Fri 10am to 4pm 
Performances: June 23 at 1:30 and 7:30; June 24 at 1:30 and 5:30 on the Anne Morton Stage
There will be a Tuition participation fee.


Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka JR
Suggested for Ages 12 & up
Audition Date: April 15, 2017 at 12pm
To Audition:   Prepare 16 measures of an up-tempo musical theatre song. 
You may also be taught a brief dance, reading, or a song from the show.
Rehearsals: Fridays from 4 to 8 starting April 28, plus two weeks of camp the weeks of June 5th and June 12th Mon-Fri 10am to 4pm
Performances: June 16 at 1:30 and 7:30; June 17 at 1:30 and 5:30 on the Anne Morton Stage
There will be a Tuition participation fee.

Peter and the Starcatcher
Suggested for Ages 13 & up
Audition Date: April 15, 2017 at 2pm
To Audition:   Prepare 16 measures of an up-tempo musical theatre song. 
Prepare a 1 to 2 minute monologue
You may also be taught a brief dance, reading, or a song from the show.
Rehearsals: Two weeks of camp the weeks of July 10th and July 17th Mon-Fri 10am to 4pm
Performances:  July 21 at 1:30 and 7:30; July 22 at 1:30 and 5:30 on the Stark Stage
There will be a Tuition participation fee.
